NO. 2 AIN'T THAT BAD

Recently, I discovered a little gem in Carnaby Street in London: MONKI. So, this neat little outfit is something of a shopper's paradise, combining reasonable prices, and wonderful variety. I love their colourful and eye-catching designs and original print designs. For now, you'll have to settle for this  monochrome duo that I've put together.

It's ironic that I've sported this team jersey tee, as my most jarring memories of physical education during high school, were... well, being picked last! Let's just say, over the course of my childhood, (forgive me, as I almost genuinely believe this) the ball was always somehow magnetically attracted to my face. Second place, in hindsight, is a pretty good place to be.

CRUMPLE AND STRIPE

Pieces that don't catch you off guard, but if you look carefully, you'll be taken aback by unique structure, shape and detail. That's what I think, when I walk past an ALL SAINTS. This ALL SAINTS dress is a wardrobe winner in my books; I love the ruffle-y details and the arrangement of the fabric's pattern of stripes, with an almost optical illusion effect. 

The details at the bottom and collar are interesting and really define the dress. The crumple-effect of the fabric is done in a way that let's me fake an enviable hourglass figure...

MEET ME AT RECESS

In this shoot, we played with the concept of the MAYBE by Catalfo girl. She's fun, confident and easygoing, and she isn't afraid to express herself. We took inspiration from each of our respective inner children, making use of an enchanted forest atmosphere, the sort of playfulness girls espouse at a young age. Hence, the title "MEET ME AT RECESS". 



It was incredible working with Gillian Gillespie on this shoot. She's an amazing wedding photographer, precisely because she's such a story teller at heart. Not only is she in the moment when shooting, she'll play the role of catalyst, bringing out the best in her subjects through her sweet natured attitude. 

The hairstyles and makeup by the incredibly talented Vanessa Baudner brought our characters to life: two young, carefree girls looking for adventure. 

Then you had the thrilling smoke bombs going off left-right-and-centre. They created a beautiful dreamy effect, alluding to fairytales and transformation. Ultimately, it sort of makes us think about the transformation women make themselves when discovering to know their innermost dreams and selves. 

MUSTARD THRONE

When accessorising, I love sneaking in little pieces of details here and there. This outfit is styled in mind for a semi-casual dinner or lunch date. I was surprised to find this cute two piece number in HOLLISTER, which I paired with a pop of red in my TOWN SHOES stilettos. 

It was a blast shooting with NATASHA YONAN in the comfort of her home. I particularly love the "mustard throne" and the gorgeous details of this patterned rug!
